This recipe combines tender chuck roast with fresh veggies and a rich sauce for a satisfying meal that will warm your heart and your belly. Let’s dive into how to make this family favorite!
Ingredients
– Chuck roast
– Broccoli crowns
– Carrots (thinly sliced)
– Oil
– 2-3 tbsp Corn starch
– Fresh Lo Mein noodles
– 2 tsp Sesame oil
– 2 tsp black pepper
– 1 tsp salt
– 2 tsp sugar
– 3 cloves garlic (minced)
– 1 tbsp ginger (minced)
– 3 tbsp oyster sauce
– 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
– 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
Instructions
1. Start by thinly slicing the chuck roast into strips and mixing it well in a bowl with cornstarch. This will help tenderize the beef and create a nice coating for stir-frying. Set it aside while you prepare the veggies.
2. Cut the broccoli crowns and carrots into thin slices, getting them all ready for cooking. Having everything prepped and organized will make the cooking process smooth and efficient.
3. In a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sweet soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and sugar. This flavorful sauce will be the star of the dish, enhancing the beef and veggies with a delicious umami taste.
4. Heat a pan on medium-high heat until it’s slightly smoking, then add a couple of tablespoons of oil. Cook the beef strips for about 3-5 minutes until they are seared and cooked to your liking. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.
5. In the same pan, add more oil along with the minced garlic, ginger, and all the vegetables. Stir-fry them on medium heat until they are tender and slightly caramelized, releasing their natural sweetness and aroma.
6. Next, add the fresh Lo Mein noodles and the cooked beef back into the pan. Mix everything well from the bottom up, ensuring that the noodles are coated with the flavorful sauce and the beef is evenly distributed.
7. Cover the pan for a couple of minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and the noodles to absorb the sauce.
8. Finally, pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and beef, stirring everything well to ensure that all the ingredients are coated evenly. Stir-fry for another minute to let the flavors come together and create a harmonious dish.
