Grandma’s Classic Mac & Cheese Recipe

There’s nothing quite like a comforting dish of classic mac and cheese to warm your soul. This recipe has been passed down through generations in my family, and it’s a staple at our gatherings. Ingredients
– 16 oz spaghetti
– 3 Tbsp butter
– 1/2 jar of your favorite Tomato, Onion, Garlic sauce
– 1/2 lb ground beef
– 1/2 lb ground Italian sausage
– Salt and pepper
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 block cream cheese, softened
– 1 cup cottage cheese
– 1/4 cup sour cream
– 2/3 cup parmesan cheese
– 2 cups mozzarella
– 2 lbs raw chicken breast, diced
– 2 packets of onion soup mix
– 2 cans cream of chicken soup
– 2 cans water
– 2 cups long-grain white rice
– 1lb ground beef
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1.5 tsp garlic powder
– 1.5 tsp cumin
– 1.5 tsp chili powder
– 1.5 tsp paprika
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 1.5 tsp oregano
– 1 can Rotel
– 1 can drained light red kidney beans
– 1/2 can fat free refried beans
– 8 oz tomato sauce
– 15 oz chicken broth
– 1 3/4 cup water
– 8 oz uncooked pasta (macaroni)
– 3/4 cup shredded cheddar
Instructions
1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and add butter and half a jar of Tomato, Onion, Garlic sauce. Set aside.
2. In a separate pan, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage with salt and pepper. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until translucent, then stir in 1 1/2 jars of sauce. Set aside.
3. In a greased 9×13 pan, layer half of the spaghetti. Top with a mixture of cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, and parmesan cheese. Add the remaining spaghetti and top with the meat sauce.
4. Sprinkle mozzarella on top and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
5. For the French Onion Chicken & Rice Bake, preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13 inch pan and add diced chicken. Sprinkle with onion soup mix, salt, and pepper. Add cream of chicken soup, water, and rice. Mix well, cover with foil, and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
6. For the One Pot Chili Cheese Mac, brown ground beef in a large pot. Add onion, garlic, and spices. Stir in Rotel, kidney beans, refried beans, tomato sauce, chicken broth, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes. Add pasta and simmer for an additional 6-7 minutes. Remove from heat, let rest for 5 minutes, then stir in cheddar.
