SHRIMP WITH BUTTER, GARLIC, CILANTRO AND TEQUILA
Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup tequila
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lime wedges for garnish
Instructions:
- Prep the Shrimp: Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Melt the Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Cook the Shrimp: Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they start to turn pink.
- Add Tequila: Carefully pour in the tequila and stir to combine. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked through and the tequila has reduced slightly.
- Finish with Cilantro: Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle the chopped cilantro over the shrimp. Toss gently to coat the shrimp in the buttery, garlicky sauce.
- Serve: Transfer the shrimp to a serving dish, garnish with lime wedges, and enjoy immediately.
This shrimp dish is a delightful blend of rich butter, fragrant garlic, and zesty cilantro with a hint of tequila, making it a perfect appetizer or main course for any meal. Serve it with crusty bread or over a bed of rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
