Banana Pudding cake

  • 1 box yellow cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant banana pudding mix
  • 1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • Vanilla wafer cookies for garnish

  1. Prepare the Cake:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Follow the instructions on the yellow cake mix box to prepare the batter.
    • Pour the batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Bake according to the package instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    • Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  2. Make the Pudding Layers:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk and both the banana and vanilla pudding mixes until smooth.
    • Let the mixture sit for about 2 minutes until it begins to thicken.
  3. Assemble the Cake:
    • Once the cake has cooled, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake, about an inch apart.
    • Pour the pudding mixture over the cake, spreading it evenly and pressing it into the holes with a spatula.
    • Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the top of the pudding layer.
  4. Add the Topping:
    • Spread the whipped topping over the bananas, covering the entire cake.
    • Crush a few vanilla wafers and sprinkle them over the top for garnish. You can also place whole vanilla wafers around the edges for decoration.
  5. Chill and Serve:
    • Cover the cake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the pudding to set.
    • Slice and serve chilled.

Enjoy your delicious Banana Pudding Cake! It’s a perfect dessert for gatherings and sure to be a hit with your members.
